The Best Part of Me
What is the best part of you? Your legs?
Your hair? your ears? Your fingers?
We'll read the book The Best Part of Me
by Miss Lord's 3rd, 4th, and 5th grade
class from a school in North Carolina.
You will do the same: choose a part you
that you love and write a short text
explaining why.
You might want to review the grammar
points in your VIRTUAL RESOURCE BOOKLET to prepare you for your text.
You can also watch this video of the book to remind you of what you will do.
Jobs and Occupations
We are starting a new activity in class! The new theme is JOBS AND OCCUPATIONS! We will practice our jobs and occupations vocabulary by playing games in
learning stations. Our final task will be to write
about what job we want when we grow up. You can help your child at home by reviewing the jobs and
occupations picture dictionaries in the VIRTUAL RESOURCE BOOKLET.
Please enjoy this video with your child, to help
them practice their vocabulary.
Zombie Outbreak!
Zombies have now entered Canada and it's too
late for many Canadian provinces. The experts
foresee the arrival of the zombies in the province
in a matter of days. Our class has been asked to collaborate with the Ministry of Zombie
Prevention and Outbreaks to create a zombie
survival guide for the residents of Québec.
Stay tuned for more information on how to
stay safe during this zombie outbreak.
Puzzling Animals
Grade 6 students have had more than their share of animals projects in ESL. Yet, I've decided to use another one. Not only do students enjoy the proposed angle from which we discover animals, but they enjoy the collaboration in the exploration of the texts phase. The magazine presents animals with special abilities,
some of which will have the students laughing out loud. This LES brings the animal theme to another level.
At home, you can review the VIRTUAL RESOURCE BOOKLET as well as watch these videos featuring
animals.
